Youth committee members who oversaw anti-violence artwork now displayed on six Border buses wanted to highlight these three main points.
“We were just looking at ones that had the strongest messages that would be easy to understand,” Stephanie Murray, 15, said.
Launched on Saturday at The Cube Wodonga, the bus project evolved from the Love Bites schools program.
Sergeant Shane Martin, of Wodonga, said the young people’s contribution formed a key part of the community campaign.
“These kids are 15, 16, I suppose, in the next 10 years they’ll be in relationships,” he said. “Attitudes and beliefs and how they behave is up to them, so they can change what’s going on now and hopefully in generations to come everyone will be better for it.”
City2City, White Ribbon Ball and Border Trust provided project funding.
