Heavy rain on Friday night and Saturday forced Albury Tennis Association to cancel summer pennant matches at the weekend.

The top of the table section one men’s clash between Wodonga Bulldogs and Forest Hill Blues will be a highlight this weekend.

Bulldogs, with Graham Hawkins, Cameron Meagher and Andrew Healy all delivering to date, will be looking to extend their unbeaten start to the season.

Blues will look to Marcus Busch, Matthew Paull, Zac Burhop and Cameron Scholz to close the gap to the top.

Other match-ups see Forest Hill Cats at home to Wangaratta and Forest Hill Galahs against SPD.

In the ladies, undefeated Wodonga Larrikins host Thurgoona Jade, with Sandra Allen, Jeanne Piergrosse, Kendall Oates, Dianne Larkin and Rhonda Wilson looking to further impress.

Wodonga Diamonds play club mates Tigers, Wodonga Slammers are up against SPD and Forest Hill clash with Wodonga Dodgers.

Section two sees ladder leaders Sacred Heart hoping to continue their good form against SPD, while Forest Hill Wombats battle club mates Magpies, Wodonga Bushrangers take on Thurgoona Sharks and Albury play Forest Hill Diggers.

The unbeaten SPD take on third-placed Uiver Park in what should be a close match in the ladies, with Scots Black to play Forest Hill and Glenly to do battle with Wodonga Silver.

The junior Sportspower and North East veterans tournaments set down for Albury on Sunday were also washed out.

The next junior event is at Yarrawonga on February 4, while a twilight veterans tournament will be hosted by Wangaratta on January 11, followed by Wodonga on January 28.
