Hayes took Boomers all the way to cup title this year after finishing second in the league to the undefeated Albury City.
“We’ve been thereabouts, I think we’ve missed one cup final in the last 15 years,” Hayes said.
“It speaks more for the quality of the girls than the coaching to be fair.
“They create their own culture and their own standard and the girls that come in accept the challenge and take it to the level that’s necessary.”
There is expected to be a number of changes to the squad with Beth Kennedy hinting she may retire, while Maddy Harris is on the job hunt and may be required to move out of town.
Talented youngster Christina Stefanou will play for South Melbourne’s under 19s, while injured star Alarna Parascos is expected to miss most of the season recovering from knee surgery before heading overseas.
