The Rangers chased down Corowa’s modest total of 9-142 on the second last ball of their innings to pinch a heart-stopping victory.
An unbeaten 46 from Aidan Ryan was the key.
Baranduda captain Vince Moran joined Ryan at the crease at 6-44 and made 31 in a partnership of 59 to wrestle back the momentum.
Requiring four from the final over, Ryan kept his cool to steer his side to a memorable victory.
“It’s never great when you walk out at 6-44, but the wicket was good it was just a matter of grinding it out,” Moran said.
“The run rate was never dramatically high so we took our time and broke it down into small targets.
“We had guys down the order that could stick around, but at that stage is was up to the two of us.
“There was definitely some nerves towards the end, poor Ryan Scammell was packing himself going out there as the last man standing.
“We had a close game with Dederang in round one and they managed to get over the line, so it was nice to get one back.”
Wodonga (127) defeated Bethanga (85) by 42 runs.
Lavington (8-143) was given a major scare by Howlong (8-142) before prevailing by two wickets.
Mount Beauty (8-144) also had to dig deep to chase down Kiewa’s total of 7-141.
Yackandandah, led by 68 from opener Quenten Lucas, got back on the winner’s list against Dederang.
The Roos bowled the Demons out for 128 before finishing 5-133 after 38 overs.
