Belvoir coach Josh Warren went from 28 to 50 in just four shots against East Albury.
The classy left-hander hammered three successive sixes and a boundary from Crows’ import Dom Blampied’s first over.
“When he gets going, it’s good to watch,” stand-in captain Zac Simmonds said.
Leg-spinner Blampied, who’s from Jersey, had his revenge though when he dismissed Warren for 83.
Simmonds replaced Matt Jaensch (back).
MALHOTRA MAGIC
Lavington coach Robbie Mackinlay has warned all clubs to be on Sahib Malhotra alert.
The Indian all-rounder made 19 against the Panthers, following his season-debut 55 against Wodonga.
“Malhotra will take a side down this year, no doubt about it,” Mackinlay said.
“He looks good, if he goes out at number three in a two-day game and gets himself in, look out, I reckon.
“The difference in the end, in what was a pretty even game, was our running between the wickets and our outfielding.”

PREPARE TO LAUNCH
It’s hard to believe a team with as much talent as Tallangatta is in eighth spot.
Admittedly, Malhotra only arrived late last month, while ex-Sri Lankan international Dilhara Lokuhettige is still overcoming that horror dislocated ankle last season.
The Bushies have just the two wins from 10 rounds, although they’ve played two thrilling ties against Wodonga, along with the association’s two washouts.
Tallangatta sits only four points out of the top six because with so many one-dayers and their limited points, you’re never too far away.
YOUNG GUNS
New City’s continued its production line against North Albury.
Seventeen-year old Adam McLennan took a wicket and helped dismiss North’s star batsman.
“He took a blinder of a catch to get rid of Ash Borella, diving to his right at gully,” coach Nick McDonald said.
And fellow debutant Aaron Green only turned 16 in October.
“Fantastic, he bowled really well,” McDonald said.
“He took the new ball and was running in beautifully and he fielded really well, we were rapt with him.”
KEEPING UP WITH JONES BOY
Last season’s district grand finalists provided three players to provincial.
Former Kiewa quick Ryan de Vries hasn’t played at East Albury yet due to injury and university commitments.
Mount Beauty’s premiership players Jake Styles joined Belvoir, while Luke Jones is at Wodonga.
And Jones had a breakout performance against Albury.
Jones took 3-34 and then rattled up his first half-century.
He had bowled a few overs in four games and had never taken a scalp.
