In a perfect warm-up for the BBL season, Watson smashed 114 off 53 balls for Sutherland against Mosman in a Twenty20 match at Allan Border Oval.
His knock included one boundary and 16 sixes.
“He missed the first four games last year with an injury so if we can have him fit and firing and in ominous form at the start of the tournament it’s going to be fantastic,” Feteke said.
“He’s the lynch-pin of our side basically.”
Feteke, who has played for Brisbane Heat and Melbourne Renegades, said Thunder would be focusing on their own game rather than Kevin Pietersen and the Melbourne Stars.
“We will have a team meeting later on,” he said.
“In practice games you generally try and execute your own skills.
“If he gets away, we will come up with something.”
