A strong crowd of 6877 rolled in for the second Border Bash between Melbourne Stars and Sydney Thunder at Lavington Sportsground on Tuesday night, about 2500 down on last year.
Erdlejac was happy with the response, but can see there is even more potential if the event was scheduled on a weekend.
“As a cricket organisation, we’re looking to work with Cricket NSW and Cricket Victoria and the franchises to bring the game to the country on the weekend,” he said.
“We understand more matches are going to be scheduled in coming years and we know our facility is good enough, so we’d like Cricket Australia to step up and look after us.”
Wagga’s Robertson Oval will host two WBBL fixtures between Sydney Thunder and Adelaide Strikers on January 20 and 21.
