After only posting four wins for the entire 2016-17 season, the Bulldogs have become one of the teams to beat this summer.
Wodonga’s only loss came at the hands of Lavington who they share the top of the ladder with after nine matches.
Eskdale awaits this weekend, a side they bowled out for just 59 on their way to a comfortable victory in the third week of the season.
Captain Mason Brown admitted he didn’t really know what to expect leading into the campaign.
“We knew we were definitely going to have a stronger side than last year because when you look at it we’ve got a three-time premiership player in Leigh Collins opening the bowling for us,” Brown said.
“We’ve got a really good mix of young and old that balances out the team a lot better than previous years.
“I know last year there was only really three older blokes in the side and the rest were all juniors that were doubling up each week.
“It’s made a massive difference having those cooler heads to help them out.”
Among them is veteran Tim Weilandt who led the way in last week’s triumph against Bethanga with 48.
“He’s wanted to prove what he can do and in the last two weeks he’s been our best batsman by far," Brown said.
