Robyn Hobbs met supermarket owners privately in Albury on Thursday and was shown financial statements flagging the scheme’s impact.
She said she had asked the retailers, who included East Albury IGA owner Bob Mathews, to provide options to lessen the impact of the scheme on the Border.
“I don’t have a magic wand to fix all the problems but it’s important to listen to them,” Ms Hobbs said.
“I just want two or three (options) that are going to work, you want things that are viable.”
Ms Hobbs has vowed to return to Albury in February to discuss the possibilities.
EPA chairman Barry Buffier, Cross Border Commissioner James McTavish and Albury MLA Greg Aplin were also at the meeting at the Commercial Club.
