Bence, who spent four years at the helm from 2011, will join Col McCulloch on five seasons after returning to the position at the club’s annual general meeting on Wednesday night.
McCulloch was at the helm when Wodonga won its last senior flag in 2004, while Bence coached the grand final winning side against North Albury.
Bence has taken over from Chris Jackson who stood down due to work commitments.
Ian Lumby and Rob Botter resigned as secretary and treasurer for the same reason, with the Bulldogs unable to fill those appointments at their annual general meeting.
Wodonga elected eight board members with Bence being joined by Mauro Stefani, John Flower, Terry Quinn, Tania Burton, Josie West, Jodie Dwyer and Kay Perry.
Wodonga posted a profit of $5247 with gate takings up by $17,952.
The Bulldogs spent $157,520 on player payments which is comfortably under the salary cap.
Wodonga had built itself into a competitive side over the past two seasons, but new coach Zac Fulford faces a baptism of fire in his first season at the helm with a host of senior players leaving John Flower Oval.
Midfielder Jarrod Hodgkin was the first big-name to exit when he switched to rivals Wodonga Raiders as an assistant-coach, while Matt Seiter joined Brock-Burrum.
Tom Johnson, Bob Russell and Kaine Parsons will play for Tallangatta, with a number of other senior Bulldogs finding new homes in the TDFL.
On a positive note, former SANFL player Brede Seccull will line-up when free of commitments with Sandringham, while Kiewa-Sandy Creek best and fairest winner Jacob Barber has also committed.
Tim Kennedy and Jackson Russell will co-coach the reserves and Robbie Jackson is in charge of the thirds.
Meanwhile, Richmond chief executive officer Brendon Gale will be the guest speaker at AFL North East Border’s business lunch at Albury’s Commercial Club on February 23.
Gale, who played 244 matches for the Tigers, took over the top job in 2009 and oversaw their stunning rise up the premiership table this year.
Tickets are $90 per person with tables of 10 available for $850.
The function starts at 12pm.
