Aldridge mustered a second at last year’s meeting, but is hopeful one of his three entries will deliver the Wodonga stable its first victory in more than six months.
His Spirit is his best chance in a five-horse field in the opening race (2050m).
“He’s racing well at the moment and is knocking on the door back at his home track,” Aldridge said.
En Passant will make it’s debut in race two across 1100 metres, while Swanhilde needs to recapture some form in the top-rated race five (1590m).
“She’s (En Passant) only a newcomer having her first start, but she’s shown us a little bit,” Aldridge said.
“Swanhilde has been a little disappointing, but I hope he can find a bit of form.
“It doesn’t matter where you go now, it’s hard to win one, but it’s always nice to win one at home.”
Shirley Hunter has all three rides after finishing fourth on His Spirit at Wangaratta on December 17.
