After five years of a sportsmans and celebrity-style format, the three-day golf tournament will focus more on the long-term supporters of the event.
Comedian Fred Lang and a range of live entertainment will be provided, instead of guest speakers from various sporting backgrounds.
Fraser is excited to be entering a sixth year with the event which he hopes will give the golf club a financial kick-start to the year.
“We’ve been lucky to have all the celebrities like the AFL guys and V8 Supercars drivers come and support the event over the last four or five years, but we’ve tried to mix it up this year and probably go back doing that again next year,” Fraser said.
“Shaun (Whitechurch) has been great organising it and has really tried to put a different spin on it each year.
“It’s been five years of the same sort of thing, not that it was ever stale, it was more just to mix it up and make it about the people that have supported the event at the club.

“That’s why we got a comedian in because we want to have a good laugh when we come in off the golf course and it will be a bit of fun.”
Touring professionals Wade Ormsby and Matthew Millar are among the many to have played in the Ambrose in recent years, but Fraser said that won’t be the case this time around.
“It was a tricky time of year for all those guys, they’ve all got young families and it’s hard to get them away,” Fraser said.
“We’ve been so lucky over the last five years to have them come up at this time of year and support the event free of charge.
“They’re always welcome to come up and everyone that couldn’t make it said they’d be up here next year to do it all again.”
Fraser hasn’t set a target, but knows the importance of every dollar.
“My goal is to make sure we’ve got a facility here that gets maintained so kids get to appreciate it over a long time like I did as a kid growing up here,” he said.
The action begins on Friday night with a sprint event, before the 36-hole three-person ambrose on Saturday and Sunday.
