Myrtleford and District’s Evie Hughes had no trouble adjusting to the high standard of play for Victoria Goldminers’ under 14s girls outfit at Wodonga Sports and Leisure Centre.
Hughes was her team’s second highest scorer with eight points, behind Eloise Wills on nine, as the Goldminers closed out a 40-34 win.
Wodonga product Riley Gill impressed during his time on court for the Victoria Goldminers in the under 14s boys competition.
Gill netted five points as his side edged to a 43-37 victory against South Australia Magpies.
Albury’s Liam Brady, also in the under 14s boys, played his part in NSW Ospreys’ clash with NSW Waratahs, finishing with four points in the narrow 38-34 defeat.
Wodonga’s Casey Ardern added two points in the Victoria Bushrangers’ 66-57 loss to the South Australian Magpies in the under 18s girls event.
