There are no doubt more than a few people on the Border who hold happy memories of gatherings at Albury's The Crown Lounge.
Located on the first floor of Beer DeLuxe, The Crown Lounge is one of the area's oldest function spaces. And a recent refurbishment has returned The Crown, located at Beer DeLuxe Albury, to its former glory.
As part of the refurbishment, which occurred late last year, stunning parquetry floors about 50 years old have been revealed and restored.
And guests, whether returning or new, are sure to be impressed by the new interior look and ambience.
Venue manager Bart Furst said restoring The Crown Lounge to its former glory was the goal of the project.
"The Crown Lounge is one of Albury’s oldest function spaces, having hosted countless weddings, birthdays and celebrations in years gone by," Mr Furst said.
"As part of the refurbishment, carpet was pulled back in the main dining room and 50-year-old parquetry floors were restored.
"This is by far the room’s most stunning feature."

The Beer DeLuxe team were assisted by Natalie Baker, owner of Border interior design agency, Ruby + Soul.
Miss Baker said the refurbishment was about acknowleging the building's iconic art deco heritage.
She said she knew there was parquetry flooring, which features beautiful inlays of jarrah, under the carpet.
Touches of tradition, romance and elegance have been added to the interior in the same vein as the famous Raffles Hotel Singapore.
Miss Baker said the refurbishment didn't involve any structural changes.
“When you step out of the lift it’s beautiful, with rich textures but a soft lightness. You could be anywhere in the world,” she said.
“It’s unique to Albury.”
As part of the relaunch, the team at The Crown and Beer DeLuxe are giving everyone a chance to win a $1000 Crown Lounge voucher.
To enter, post a photo of your favourite memory at The Crown on Facebook or Instagram, and tag @beerdeluxe_albury and hashtag #crownloungerestored.
The competition closes on February 11. The winner will be chosen on February 12 at 5pm.
Inquiries are now welcome for a variety of function bookings at The Crown Lounge. The maximum capacity for bookings is 250 people for a cocktail event and 150 people for a sit down function. Smaller bookings are also welcome.
