The eisteddfod committee has announced its catalogue of events, which can be downloaded at the website (www.awesightandsound.com.au).
After the success of the Pitch Perfect movies, the committee added A Cappella groups to the music in schools and community sections last year. This year, the addition of the solo artist challenge will be for instrumental or vocal soloists.
The inaugural artist for the section will be the late George Michael and his song Freedom! 90, which featured in the latest Pitch Perfect franchise.
This year’s eisteddfod kicks off on July 26, running across 17 days and featuring dance, highland dance, music, debating, speech and drama.
The 2018 catalogue includes revisions to most disciplines including a change to age groupings in dance, new sections for percussion in the music section and a senior section in debating for Year 10 school students.
Entries, which will be open soon, close on May 18.
