Tubbs Gift backed up from its triumph at Wangaratta on January 2 with victory in race two at Benalla on Wednesday.

The four-year-old mare, ridden by the in-form Lachlan King, beat pre-race favourite Chloebell by 0.2 lengths.

First Amendment ran ninth in its first start for the O’Prey stable in race six. 

Meanwhile, Wangaratta’s Michael Gibson claimed the first of the day with Chance Taken beating a quality field to break its maiden.

The five-year-old held off Shaun Dwyer’s Set To Go and the Anthony Freedman-trained Captivator.

North Wangaratta trainer Steve Cunningham claimed the last of the eight-race program with Doogans Rise.
