Xavier High School has a long and proud tradition of Catholic Education in Albury.

In 2018 they will celebrate the anniversary of 150 years in Catholic Secondary Education – its founders, the Sisters of Mercy, arrived in Albury in 1868, and the Christian Brothers in 1917.

“At Xavier we put learning first,” said principal Gavin Dykes.

“We are committed to a holistic community approach to education whereby families and the school partner to better obtain educational achievement for our students.

“Our three pillars of learning - faith, academia and well-being - nurture our students and challenge them to be their best selves and prepare them for life beyond high school.

“Xavier High School fosters the learning and ongoing education of our students.

“Our one to one Chromebook provision supports our students to engage in a technological world.”

Supported by a rich and engaging co-curricular program, students are challenged to immerse themselves in authentic and meaningful learning opportunities preparing them for life beyond Xavier High School.

STEAM is an emerging subject that uses project-based learning to allow students to develop and investigate their own projects.

“Our Year 9  STEAM program challenges our students to engage in real-world problems to encourage students to become  creative, collaborative learners and critical thinkers prepared for the challenges of the  21st Century,” said Mr Dykes.

“At Xavier we have an incredible Immersion Program where students and staff visit indigenous communities in the Northern Territory, Moree, Barmah and Eden.

“Our Immersion Program also provides ample opportunities for students to engage in active community service and social justice programs,” he said.

Xavier High School was born with the amalgamation of St Joseph’s High School and Aquinas College in 1983.

Since this time the Sisters of Mercy and the Christian Brothers have provided outstanding educational opportunities within a faith based environment.
