The East Albury Community Project or TEACUP garden is inviting people to join the workshop on February 24.
The East Albury Community Project member Suzanne Bijster said the bee hotel would attract native bees and other creatures to the garden.
“Bees play an essential role in our food production,” she said.
“The aim is to create a hotel where bees can nest; there are lots of bees in the garden but we can attract more.
“It’s also a fun thing to do with the kids.”
The group will make one large hotel and small "rooms-to-let" for people to take home.
Organisers are seeking bamboo sticks in various widths, discs of wood about 15-20 centimetres thick, plastic water bottles, tin cans, twigs, bark, corrugated card board, broken terracotta pots, pebbles and shells.
They would also welcome use of a cordless drill or small hand saw.
The workshop starts at 9.30am.
People are asked to bring gardening gloves.
