Responding to the growing interest in inner city living, the business took on a project the likes of which they hadn’t dealt with before.
Tucked away in Central Albury, the double story home came with its challenges, but is one of director Jim Carroll’s greatest achievements.
Over his long career, Jim has built countless homes, but none more unique than one, he says, which features an internal lift and makes the design suitable for all demographics.
Complete with a large open-plan kitchen, dining and living area, a generous master suite with a walk-in-robe and ensuite, two additional bedrooms and a sizeable balcony, Jim says this is a home which truly has it all.
“It has to be the most unique home I’ve ever built, it came with its challenges but seeing the house completed was extremely rewarding and a real tribute to everyone who worked on the home,” said Jim.
“We spent about seven months building the home, it took a lot of organising and scheduling from the team to ensure the project ran smoothly, and we couldn’t be happier with the final result.
“At 785mm wide and 960mm deep, the lift can be used for both people and even furniture which helps make moving or refurnishing a breeze. With one access area right by the beautiful timber staircase, the home maintains the beauty of a classic double storey with the convenience of the lift for those unable to use the stairs.”
The 28-square home is positioned perfectly in Albury and is within walking distance to the town centre while still providing the privacy of a suburban area.
It is also fitted with CCTV security to help keep the property safe.
Hotondo Homes said the home owner, who will be listing the property for sale shortly, was thrilled with the result.
“Our aim is to ensure we’ve met the needs and exceeded the expectations of our clients. Walking them through the home was a very proud moment for our team,” said Jim.
If you’re considering building, this project showcases exactly how a builder can work to your needs and requirements.
“A lot of credit goes to our supervisor, Shannon. He had to be very organised in managing trades and even two cranes because of the narrow space. His diligence and attention to detail never ceases to amaze me.”
