The Commonwealth’s Stronger Communities grant will see new signage installed at all five pools, on the recommendation of a Life Saving Victoria audit.
Indigo Council will contribute about $20,000 to the Indigo Swimming Pools Infrastructure Project.
Cathy McGowan welcomed the announcement and said the shire was progressing a plan for solar upgrades at swimming pool facilities.
“The installation of a solar blanket at Yackandandah will provide for a better response to changing weather and the opportunity to extend the pool season,” she said.
“Pools are a key recreational hub for the community, home to swim programs, morning swimmers and casual swimmers.”
