The Eagles will start hot favourites to overtake North and jump into the top six with only one round left to finals.
The home side will resume on 0-30, chasing North’s disappointing 161.
But Daniel was in a similar position in the last round and delivered.
After collapsing for just 96, Daniel bowled his team to a crucial win against Tallangatta in snaring 4-6.
“Stats don’t lie, he’s probably one of the best (bowlers in the competition I’d imagine),” team-mate Ryan Addison said.
“There’s no pressure release, there’s no let-up, he’s got the ball on a string that fellow.
“He just bowls where he wants and another thing, he’s got the experience, he knows all the batsmen as well, knows their weaknesses.
“He’s such a very talented, very skilled, clever man.”
Daniel has 30 wickets at 16.8, boasting two five-wicket hauls, with a best of 6-84 against East Albury.
North has a tenuous hold on fifth spot, with 66.79 points.
Belvoir is seventh on 63.96.
English import Addison says the club will take confidence from the thrilling last-round win over the Bushies.
“Of course, it’s always a positive,” he said.
Belvoir has had an inconsistent season, but it’s probably just one good day away from sealing a finals berth.
If the Eagles topple North, they’ll fancy their chances against eighth-placed St Patrick’s.
John Spencer will resume on 15 and English recruit Jack Jessop on 12.
Neither player has had a big season, so not only could they send the Eagles to another finals campaign, but they could also boost their confidence in a crucial game.
Meanwhile, North’s second import Ryan Macbeth has returned to Northern Ireland.
The opening bowler claimed eight wickets at 27.3.
The Belvoir-North match is one of four which will shape the finals.
Sixth-placed New City could jump to third if it can defend 260 at Tallangatta.
Only one team has posted a higher total in the two-dayers – Lavington hammered 307 against Belvoir last round – but the Bushies boast a potent quartet, led by Indian import Sahib Malhotra and the consistent Matt Armstrong.
Wodonga could drive East Albury out of the six when it resumes on 1-47.
The Crows made a disappointing 148.
Lavington should wrap up the minor premiership against Wodonga Raiders.
The Panthers skittled Raiders for 98 and are 1-152.
And St Patrick’s is 1-4, chasing home club Albury’s 152.
