The Virtues in Vintage and Antiques (VIVA) Curiosity Shop on South Street has announced pop-up openings rather than regular hours as it winds down.
This follows a High Street butcher closing until nearby roadworks had been completed.
VIVA’s Hayden Virtue said despite community interest in collectables, the shop’s trade had been reduced as a result of changing traffic conditions.
Mr Virtue said Wodonga Council had given notice of the works but more thought should have gone into their planning.
“They can close major thoroughfares in Melbourne and Sydney and keep traffic flow at a restricted rate,” he said.
“Block off the traffic here for a period of time completely, it kills us, and I really feel for those High Street businesses who have got a longer, harder ride than we have.”
South Street is expected to re-open in the next week after more than a month of the latest central Wodonga roadworks.
