Morrison has been one of the fittest players in the Border squad and put Murray in front 10 minutes into the second half, before a late goal from Eastern’s Daniel Aye squared the contest at 1-1.
Murray United coach Elliot Jones was pleased with the performance of Morrison in his first game back at La Trobe.
“It was set up for the fairy tale for Tommy and he absolutely deserved it after the work he’s done in the pre-season,” Jones said.
“It’s pretty rare to get fairy tales in football.
“He played well and he worked his way into the game.
“It was a great goal and the boys enjoyed it as much as he did.
“It wasn’t to be in the end, but we still get a point, so it’s not all bad that’s for sure.”
Meanwhile, Murray drew with Eastern Lions, 2-2, in the under 20s fixture.
