Lara Butlin has just been named in her first national team to contest this weekend’s Aussie-Kiwi Challenge in New Zealand.
“She’s very good, she’s in that development stage where she’s really starting to see some results at the moment,” Cathryn Humphrey said.
“She’s extremely dedicated, I haven’t seen someone that committed to wanting to do well for a long time.”
Humphrey is a former winner of the Albury-Wodonga Young Achiever of the Year award and was a star at international level, particularly in the tricks.
And 13-year old Butlin couldn’t have a better coach.
“Tricks are my favourite because you get to do something different and learn new things,” she said.
But the Albury High School student has all-round skills.
“She’s really consistent over the three events, the juniors need to be to make an Australian team now,” Humphrey said.
