McLarty will get married on the Border over Easter and plans to play a “handful of matches” for the Roos before returning to Queensland.
“It will be good to get him back for a while,” coach Marc Almond said.
“He’s planning on hanging around for a couple of months.
“He’ll be handy in the backline.”
McLarty last played for Corowa-Rutherglen in 2014 before moving to Queensland and joining Noosa.
Corowa-Rutherglen held its pre-season camp at Howmans Gap at Falls Creek over the weekend.
The Roos will take on Jindera in their opening practice match on March 3, followed by clashes against Turvey Park and Reservoir.
Meanwhile, Wodonga youngster Trent Williamson has joined Northern Football League club Heidelberg.
