The majority of the funding came from a NSW government capital works grant of $557,000, while the federal government has contributed $15,000 to fit out the new room once it is built.
The school community has also embarked on a major fundraising campaign to complete the fit-out.
Farrer MP Sussan Ley visited the pre-school on Tuesday to meet with staff and students.
Springdale Heights pre-school director Allison Speer said it was an exciting time for the school.
“The children are very excited about the work that’s been happening and watching the builders build their new room,” she said.
“We’ll be able to have a two-room pre-school, which means we’ll be able to cater for 40 children a day, instead of the 20 we’re currently looking after.”
