Glenly had all the answers in a straightforward win over Forest Hill, while Uiver Park was untroubled against Wodonga Silver.
In section one men, Jade Culph and Lewis Ahern played an outstanding doubles rubber to see SPD snatch the points by just two games against Forest Hill Cats.
They each completed excellent singles wins, with David Lake outstanding for the losers.
An all-round team effort from Marcus Busch, Zac Burhop and Cameron Scholz saw Forest Hill Blue record a 4-2 salute over Wangaratta.
Andrew Healy produced excellent tennis all day in Wodonga Bulldogs’ 4-2 defeat of Forest Hill Galahs, with Ken Wurtz best for his team.
In the ladies, Thurgoona Jade finished strongly to claim the points against Wodonga Dodgers.
SPD returned to the winners’ list with a 4-2 victory over Wodonga Tigers.
Wodonga Larrikins were too strong for Wodonga Diamonds.
A three-set haul from Wayne Cheshire was key in Sacred Heart’s four-game triumph over Wodonga Eagles in the best of section three.
Albury Blue had the points in the bag by mid-afternoon against SPD Yellow.
Albury Gold accounted for Glenly and Wodonga Pirates were too good for SPD Black.
In the ladies, Charlotte Delbridge led SPD White to a narrow five-game victory over Scots Blue.
The other completed match saw Wodonga Aces easily account for Scots Pink.
Thurgoona Bears defeated Glenly Bold in the pick of section four.
Forest Hill Blues jumped away early from SPD White, before completing a 5-1 win, as did Forest Hill Crows over SPD Green.
In section five, SPD Orange defeated Wodonga Cats in an excellent tussle.
Lavington Jokers powered home in their section six encounter against SPD Purple.
Albury Green started brightly, before Albury Red launched a fight back to get home 4-2.
In other news, the next tournament on the North East Veteran’s Group calendar is at Corowa on Sunday.
