Experienced distance runner Kevin Muller took out Wodonga Athletic Club’s aggregate for its annual five-kilometre handicap series.

Muller was the fastest male during the last race of the three-round event, completing the course in 17 minutes and 23 seconds to pip Michael Dickens by just four seconds.
This gave Muller the fastest aggregate over the three races with a total time of 52.51 (18.12, 17.16 and 17.23)
Cal Race-Stelling took the title of the fastest female for the third time in the series, with a run of 19.44 giving her an aggregate of 59.46. (20.40, 19.22, and 19.44).
The final raced was staged at the Wodonga Athletic Club track after starting the series on the gravel rail trail from Ludlow’s Reserve, before moving to the concrete path around the lake at Sumison Gardens.
Runners completing the 12.5 laps of the track, posting some very fast times.
Winners of the series final were Bob Currie, Doug Lloyd and Declan Pearce.
Michael Dickens finished third overall on the night, but had not run completed race one or two and was not eligible to claim the series.
Meanwhile, a large group of runners started in the heats for the Veronica Foard Gift last week.
The event is handicap race with starters competing between 70 to 110 metres.
Runners ran three heats and the final was hotly-contested.
Mount Beauty’s Tristen Erickson was the winner, Sophie Buckley placed second, while Simon Crocos and Hallam Angelini were equal third.
