Cool Frogs Early Childhood Education is undergoing a fit-out after being built on Nordcon land in Daintree Way.
Business owner Beau Grummitt said it followed an Adelaide Cool Frogs opening last May and scouting of Albury-Wodonga blocks.
“We first looked at this site two years ago,” he said.
“We saw a huge growth opportunity with Wodonga and the greater Albury-Wodonga area – from our first visit down here it was obvious there was a demand.”
Up to 30 staff will work at the centre which has a capacity for 87 children aged from six weeks to preschool.
Centre director Cathy Bowyer, who has worked in the sector on the Border for 20 years, said waiting lists reflected a strong demand for more childcare in Wodonga.
