The community tidy up day Clean Up Australia Day is next Sunday, March 4. In advance of this day, we’d like to know where the worst litter spots are in and around the Border.
Lake Hume, Monument Hill, Nail Can, Wonga Wetlands and other nature reserves spring to mind but what are the notorious hot spots in your community?
An increase in littering around the Border has forced some local residents to resort to cleaning up themselves. Fast food wrappers, chip packets, coffee cups, beer cans, supermarket trolleys, household rubbish, illegal dumping of tyres … the list goes on. Is it lack of bins or sheer laziness?
We’ll be compiling a list of the Border’s hot rubbish spots so we can target the mess once and for all this Clean Up Australia Day.
