Details of the cash splash were outlined by member for Albury Greg Aplin during a visit by state Tourism Minister Adam Marshall on Monday.

Nearly $400,000 will be spent on work along the Murray River around Noreuil Park as part of Albury Council projects.

It includes new car parks, an alternative bike path, realignment of the Wagirra Trail, upgrading of retaining walls, playground entry and extra lighting.

Precisely $300,000 will be spent on a playground upgrade at National Foresters Grove along Wagga Road, Lavington.

The remainder, $300,000, will be spent on improvements to Monument Hill which also involve $800,000 from the council.

They include new security cameras, better lighting and landscaping.

"Our community has been calling out for upgrades to local facilities and I'm thrilled these can now be carried out.” Mr Aplin said.

Albury mayor Kevin Mack was delighted by the funding.

"The generosity of the government means we can proceed with these important projects to enhance community assets and landmarks for the good of everyone in the city," he said.

"I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the Minister for Regional NSW, John Barilaro, and the Member for Albury, Greg Aplin, for their support of our community and I look forward to seeing these great projects take shape."

Member for Albury, Greg Aplin is pleased to join the Minister for Tourism and Major Events, Adam Marshall today to announce that Write Around The Murray will receive $20,000 of NSW Government funding under the 2018 Flagship Event Fund, aimed at attracting more visitors to experience regional NSW.

Mr Aplin said the Fund, managed by the State's tourism and major events agency, Destination NSW, provides grants to support marketing activities that drive overnight visitation.

"I am delighted that Write Around The Murray will receive funding under the 2018 Flagship Event Fund."

Earlier Mr Marshall said Albury’s annual literary festival Write Around The Murray was receiving $20,000 from the government’s Flagship Event Program.
