At 19, Chahda will be the youngest driver on the track.
Although this will be his first time in a ute, it will not be his first time at the track.
His dad is Amin Chahda, who was a champion in various national racing categories and he is hoping for some strong results from his son.
Chahda senior raced in the future tourers and competed in the Bathurst 24 Hour, while Chahda junior has raced go-karts for numerous years.
He is a full-time student at Wodonga TAFE studying motorsport.
He has done many laps at Winton in many vehicles and has achieved some excellent results.
The young driver has claimed Winton as his home track in the Formula Fords that he is driving and recently won the last round at Eastern Creek and was rookie of the year last year.
Corowa-based Williams Race Tech, which is preparing the ute for Chahda, has had more rookies than any other team and are excited to have yet another rookie join their list of over 15 drivers in three years of racing.
“Matt is a confident up-and-comer and we are keen to see what he can do in a ute,” team manager Wayne Williams said.
