McGrath Fine Foods founders Laurence and Jan McGrath and their sons Jesse and Jackson opened the much-anticipated Greenstreat in City Walk Arcade last month.
Mrs McGrath says the fast, casual food outlet is the ideal evolution for their range of gourmet salad dressings, which first appeared in Albury at their former eateries Canteen Cuisine and Simply Fed.
She says fresh salads, burritos, warm bowls, smoothies and acai bowls make up the healthy and seasonal breakfast and lunch menu.
“Each component is made from scratch every day,” she says.
“The business has the ability to grow in stages and we expect the “grab and go” to really go ahead.”
Jackson says they researched the growing sector in Australia and overseas during the past two years.
With huge demand for McGrath Fine Foods products in Queensland, he says some people were surprised they launched the eatery in Albury.
“There will be more to come though; Queensland will be next but we’d like an express outlet in Wodonga too,” he says.
Jesse says dressing sales remain strong but Greenstreat will evolve the business.
“We didn’t want to go the supermarket route,” he says.
Greenstreat opens Monday to Friday, 7am-4pm and Saturday, 8am-4pm.
