Regenerate opens at Arts Space Wodonga this Friday night and features work by Albury artist Stephanie Jakovac.
“It’s a positive twist on the bushfires,” she said.
“I know bushfires are devastating to humans but this is looking at what the bushfire does to bush and the regenerative effect it has on the bush.”
There are 28 pictures on glass in the display, with Jakovac applying the paint for those with her fingers behind the surface.
Her interest in fires comes through being a bushwalker.
“I’ve walked in Falls Creek and Chiltern forest straight after bushfires and I’ve come home feeling inspired,” Jakovac said.
Using sketches and photos Jakovac completed all the show’s works from 2015.
A forum will be held on March 28 with Jakovac discussing her work alongside naturalist Karen Retra and Regeneration Solutions director Ian Davidson from 6pm at Arts Space.
