The Panthers have been dubbed the association’s best pace attack of the past 25 years with ex-New Zealand quick Daryl Tuffey, the Brown brothers – Ryan and Nathan – and former ACT Comets’ Brett Davies.
“100 per cent, obviously the guys at ‘Lavi’ have had a pretty good year as well, it comes down to how well we apply ourselves,” he said.
North dominated the competition from the 1996-97 season.
Its reign ended in 08-09 when it toppled Wodonga.
Greg Daniel and Brendan Simmons are the only players who remain.
The pair also played in the following year’s grand final loss to Wodonga.
“They don’t come around often and I’m 25 and this is my first one,” Borella said.
“It’d be pretty special obviously, to get back in that category, with the lineup we’ve got would be unreal.”
Borella has been remarkably consistent with 674 runs (2015-16), 670 (16-17) and now 672.
“I think last year I was a lot more consistent, I’ve probably let myself down with a few mind errors,” he said.
“But I’d give up everything for a medallion on Sunday arvo.”
