Angel’s Boy lived up to expectations as pre-race favourite with an impressive run to win the Albury Guineas (1400m) on Friday, following on from Supply and Demand’s second-place finish in the feature event.
The three-year-old gelding came from behind to score victory from the Nick Olive-trained I Am Kalani by almost a length.
Waterhouse’s stable representative Neil Paine was pleased with both horses.
“Rach drove him up, but he just couldn’t take position, so she had to go to plan B and she rode him a treat,” Paine said.
“She got him out around from the 600 and wound him up.
“He was terrific going to the line.
“Gai and Adrian love coming to the country cup meetings, they really get a kick out of bringing their horses down and supporting the country meetings, which is great,” Paine added.
