More than 210 guests heard her story during Saturday’s Belvoir Special School Charity Luncheon at Wodonga Racecourse.
“All the way back to when I was 14 and started teaching fitness classes,” Bridges said.
“It’s just been a real part of my life, all my life.”
Belvoir fundraising co-ordinator Vivian Busellato thanked everybody who contributed to the event, part of the Jack Maher Classic Race Day, with the total raised yet to be finalised.
“It's always a lovely day, we’re humbled by everyone’s generosity,” she said.
Bridges was happy to support such a worthy cause.
“It comes back to that community spirit and taking care of each other,” she said.
