POLICE are treating fires in Wodonga and Tallangatta as suspicious.

Firefighters were called to the stock route near Wrights Road, off the Lincoln Causeway, on Saturday afternoon.
Two separate fires broke out on the roadside, a short distance apart, about 7.20pm.
The fires were contained before they could spread, but about 50 square metres of grass and scrub was burnt out.
Police set up a crime scene and an arson chemist was called to the area.
Detectives are investigating the cause of the fire.
Three fire trucks had attended the scene.
The fire was sparked by unknown means about 3.50pm and burnt out several hectares of grass.
The blaze occurred during a total fire ban in Victoria.
The temperature reached 43 degrees on Friday.
Sergeant Tim Mooney said both fires were being treated as suspicious.
In other police news, a man will face court on Monday after a violent domestic dispute involving weapons at Wangaratta.
Police attended a home on Rattray Avenue about 7pm on Friday.
When officers arrived, a 26-year-old man was assaulting his neighbour with a screwdriver and a cooking utensil.
His partner had been assaulted a short time earlier.
He fled over fences near his home and was chased after by the officers.
The 26-year-old was agitated and violent as police tried to make an arrest.
He was blasted with capsicum spray, which did not subdue him, and the police members had to use a Taser to stop the man.
His partner was still in hospital on Sunday.
She did not have an major injuries, and the neighbour had superficial cuts to his arms.
The man will face the Wangaratta Magistrates Court on Monday.
Police are seeking information about the fires.
