The teams played out a tie in Sunday’s final after sharing the points on the opening day.
Chasing Wangaratta’s 5-127, the home team was 9-121 when James Grohmann was dismissed.
Jordan Wells and Jackson Eberle carried the scored to 127 before captain Harry Jones claimed Wells for 11.
“One thought they’d won and the other thought they’d won,” Wangaratta coach Matt Hales said.

Wangaratta’s Ben Kennedy retired on 52, while Jez Rigoni contributed 38 not out in the competitive total.
Judah Hood top-scored for CAW with 38, while Harvey Cribbes made 35.
George Lithgow nabbed 3-17 from six overs, while Max Cullen (2-6) and Jones (2-19) also bowled well.
“I’m glad the teams will share the shield because neither team deserved to lose,” Hales said of the rare occurence.
