Tonight is a solid cardio session of boxing down at my mum and dad’s new gym in Wodonga. I’m going full- throttle tonight as we did not play a game last weekend due to the bye.
5pm:
Then it’s onto focus pad work, with a partner three rounds each times three minutes of boxing technique work in the ring. Then onto a 10-minute abdominal work-out and the session’s not over yet. The final exercise is HURT. The class forms a circle in the ring ... everyone raises their arms straight up in the air for three minutes -- you are not allowed to lower your arms or hold them together -- while an eight kilogram ball is passed around the circle, each individual performs six reps of ball thrusts above their head then passes the ball onto the next person, and continues to raise their arms above their head. Ouch!

It’s been a busy start to the week already but it has me in good shape for both sports. I love boxing and soccer equally as much. I think both compliment each other. The only thing that worries me is when I’m preparing for a boxing fight that I don’t get injured playing soccer. I try not to make the two clash but sometimes it is inevitable. No need for worry at the moment as I have no fights that will clash with finals.

Second half begins and we have a lot of the possession. It’s chance after chance. Myrtleford is doing extremely well to hold us and we know that if we drop our guard in defence Myrtleford will make us pay. We count our blessings as Myrtleford has squandered a one-on-one that surely would’ve made our job even more difficult. The game is in the balance but we find a way to win through Williams, who comes off the bench to give us a 2-1 win with just minutes remaining.
