Three CFA appliances remain at the scene of a truck fire on the Hume Freeway which has fully destroyed the cabin of the B-Double and its A-Trailer, carrying food products.
Senior station officer Scott Shenfield said police were managing traffic at the scene.
"A B-Double caught fire, the driver has pulled over and by the time he pulled over the cabin of the truck was pretty much on fire," he said.
"He cleared the scene and made himself safe, and we've got the call.
"The recovery company together with VicRoads, Vicpol and CFA are on scene working out the best course of action to move the burnt prime mover and trailer with its content, to a safe area where final extinguishing will take place."
Mr Shenfield said 12 CFA appliances including 10 tankers for ferrying water had been on scene.
"Ambulance Victoria was monitoring crew as we went through quite a lot of breathing apparatus," he said.
