After going down to the neighbouring competition at the same stage in previous campaigns, Ball said he believed CAW’s improved depth could see it advance to the qualifying finals.
“Murray Valley have beaten us convincingly the last two years,” Ball said.
“They have a great representative team and set a great example of how representative cricket should be run off-field and played on-field.
“We can’t wait to play them again though. This is why people put their hands up for rep cricket to play big games like this.
“Our depth’s improved with the inclusions of our English entourage.
“Weighall (James), Drury (Sam) and Kohler-Cudmore (Ben) have all performed well so far in rep and club cricket.”
Murray Valley coasted to victory against Griffith at the weekend and boast formidable players in opening bowler Ash Quinn and all-rounder Shaun Downie.
