A man who played a key role in a spate of aggravated burglaries across Albury-Wodonga last year has abandoned his legal fight.

Nathan Patrick Sullivan had been facing a trial over his role in the crime spree.
But he has now taken responsibility for the part he played, with magistrate Richard Funston committing him for sentence in the District Court.

The 29-year-old South Albury man appeared in Albury Local Court this week via a video link to jail, where he has been held since his arrest in July, 2019.
Sullivan was facing 47 charges related to crimes connected to burglaries on several Albury-Wodonga businesses, including a bottle shop, hairdresser and takeaway store, and petrol drive-offs.
Director of Public Prosecutions representative Samuel Baumgarten, appearing via a video link to Wagga, withdrew 18 charges this week.
Mr Funston committed Sullivan for sentence on multiple charges, including several of aggravated break and enter dwelling in company to steal.
Other charges to travel to the District Court with the substantive matters include being carried in conveyance believed to be stolen, deal with proceeds of crime, dishonestly obtain financial advantage by deception and unlawfully possess number plates.
Defence lawyer Graham Lamond asked that Sullivan's case be adjourned for mention in the District Court on September 18.
That will be for the fixing of a date for sentencing.
"(There is) no application for bail," Mr Lamond said.
At the time of his arrest, Sullivan was on parole for an aggravated break and enter that resulted in him being sentenced in 2017 to more than three years' jail.
