BRIGHT will be hot rod heaven when 666 street machines descend on the town this weekend.
One of those enjoying the show will be Albury Street Rods member David Walther, who regularly takes along his 1933 Dodge coupe, which has been on the road for 15 years.
This year he can only make it for Sunday’s show and shine
“Bright is really one of the first major rod runs for the season,” he said.
“It’s a place to show new cars that were built over the winter months.”
Northern Suburbs Street Rod Club president Ray McDonald said the event had once again drawn entries from across Australia.
A contingent of about 30 cars from Tasmania had already arrived in town, as well as entries from South Australia.
Mr McDonald said the highlight once again would be the show and shine, where the public can see the cars at Pioneer Park.
“We end up with between 4000 and 6000 people coming through who are there also for the Rotary market,” he said.
A band will play in a marquee from just after the Remembrance Day minute’s silence at 11am.
The street rods will be cruising around town today and tomorrow.
