Meanwhile, the IRB and Rugby World Cup organisers have disputed claims departing teams were treated like "pieces of meat".

Samoan player continues tirade

The IRB brought a misconduct charge against Gloucester centre Fuimaono-Sapolu after he called referee Nigel Owens a "racist, biased prick" in the wake of Samoa's 13-5 loss to South Africa on Friday night.

He also called the IRB a "joke" and said officials should "kiss my bum".

The IRB said the charge followed a formal warning to the Samoa Rugby Union over critical comments Fuimano-Sapolu made earlier in the Rugby World Cup, when he claimed pool match scheduling was unfair on smaller nations.

Instead of backing away from his comments, the Auckland-educated barrister today said the IRB's actions were only "charging my batteries".

"England CHEAT, nothing happens. I TWEET, I'm charged. This is getting ridiculous. You're only charging my batteries!" he posted on Twitter.

"I want the same treatment as the England team. Otherwise, get lost."

The 30-year-old was referring to a $10,000 fine he was given for wearing a mouthguard branded by a company other than an IRB-approved sponsor.

The English team had two coaches suspended, after swapping a ball mid-game, but escaped financial sanction.

Fuimano-Sapolu said the IRB's rules governing attire were "gay" and that he wore his Gloucester mouthguard because it had been fitted specifically for him.

Today he continued criticising the IRB when a Gloucester supporter said they were looking foward to seeing the centre play again in England.

"Ha. Me too but it may not be for a while depending on these muppets," he posted.

The IRB said it not yet set a date for the misconduct hearing.

Fuimano-Sapolu has since deleted the offensive Tweet regarding Owens and seemed to acknowledge by Saturday night that he had gone too far.

Twitter user Sam Hill said he thought the rugby player's "racist" call was "pretty poor form bro".

Fuimano-Sapolu replied: "Did I say racist? Youre right. Its not a race issue. There is still injustice there for us all."

He also said: "... [The comment was] said in heat man. More of a sum of all the things we've endured during the years maybe. Perhaps you have a point. Fair play."

Cup organisers deny 'Scottish official's' claims

Tournament organisers and the IRB have denied a report they pressured the Scotland squad to leave before the team's fate was decided yesterday.

New Zealand Herald columnist Peter Bills said a team official had complained the IRB was treating teams like "pieces of meat".

The official, who was not named, said the squad was told to leave its Auckland hotel while there was still a chance - if Georgia beat Argentina yesterday - that Scotland could progress to the quarter finals.

But Scotland's media manager Graham Law this afternoon said the report was "totally inaccurate".

"...The Scotland party wish to convey our sincere thanks to Rugby World Cup and RNZ 2011 for all their support during the tournament and wish them every success for the remainder of the competition," Law said in a statement distributed by Rugby New Zealand 2011.

A spokesman for Rugby NZ, which manages all team hotel arrangements, also denied the official's claims.

"To suggest Rugby NZ 2011 put any of the Scotland team on a plane or asked them to pack before they were eliminated is completely incorrect," the spokesman said.

Tournament organisers and Scotland's team managers had agreed the squad would wait until Monday to leave.

But a number of players decided they would leave yesterday once Argentina beat Georgia and Scotland failed to qualify for the quarter finals.

"This was requested by the team, not suggested by Rugby NZ 2011," the spokesman said.

"The remaining team members will relocate to an airport hotel today and will depart on flights to Scotland today and tomorrow. Scotland fully supports our position.
