Waddingtons at Kergunyah
In Clubs, Restaurants and Take-away

Our Restaurant and Function Venue is ideally located 25 mins from Albury/Wodonga in the National Trust classified Kiewa Valley of NE Victoria. Our farm is a working cattle farm of 800 acres that has been in our family since 1869. You will drive through our Herefords to reach the restaurant which is 1km from the front gate.

…….. welcome to the ‘Farm Gate’ experience!

Jan is the Head Chef and Rod handles front of house duties along with an energetic group of long time staffers. W@K has been in the Age Good Food Guide since opening 17 years ago. It’s all about the food, the atmosphere and the friendly, efficient service.

The Restaurant is housed in a large timber building constructed from trees milled on the farm. It is summer air-conditioned and well heated in winter. The views across the valley are panoramic.

A beautiful garden encases the Restaurant with large lawn areas for ceremonies and play. Interspersed through out the garden are ancient Red Box trees, some with Aboriginal scar marks. We treasure these trees. The garden is well maintained and interesting because of its plantings, hedges and topiary. We are also passionate gardeners and happily do it ourselves…on our days ‘off’.

The oldest surviving Cattlemen’s Hut in Australia is Wallace’s Hut on the Bogong High Plains built in 1889 by Jan’s grandfather, William Wallace and his brothers. ‘Wallacedale’ homestead is across the creek from the restaurant.
