Albury Netball Association Inc
In Sport, Fitness & Recreation

The Albury Netball Association was formed in 1965 as the Married Women’s Basketball Association and has since grown to involve almost 1000 players, umpires, coaches and a dedicated team of volunteer administrators each year.

The philosophy
The philosophy of the Albury Netball Association is to provide affordable programs and competitions designed for beginners to advanced participants. We welcome all players, coaches, umpires and administrators who want to develop their skills and knowledge of the game whilst maintaining a sense of fun and enjoyment.

The competitions
Junior Competitions take place over the middle two terms of the NSW School Year on Saturday mornings and includes the Net-Set-Go program for our youngest members. This program has been developed to provide children from 5 to 11 years with the best possible learning and playing experience. It delivers a positive introduction to Netball, ensuring enjoyment and continued participation within the sport.

The Senior Competitions is held on Monday nights from February to June and a second season is run from August to December each year. In conjunction with these Monday night matches the Albury Netball Association runs a training program for umpires who are paid for umpiring the matches while receiving coaching from accredited Umpiring Coordinators.

The Representative Program
The Association also coordinates a Representative program where young players are coached by accredited coaches to improve their netball skills and is a recognised pathway to elite performance. The selected players participate in the Senior Monday Night competition and also represent the Albury Netball Association at carnivals around the region. Trials and selections are held in October and November for the following year and training begins in December, however new players to the region are welcome to approach the Association at any time for an opportunity to be involved.
