Dr Denver Maloney has spent the past 16 months living on the Border and commuting to Melbourne to work, before making the decision to buy the Crisp Street dental surgery.
“I took one look at the surgery and thought ‘yes, that’s it’,” Dr Maloney said.
“It’s got a nice atmosphere, it’s not clinical.”
The surgery’s previous owner, Dr Arne Westman, opened his practice in 1982 and thinks Dr Maloney will fit right in.
“He’s really good. He’s got a good way with the patients,” Dr Westman said.
Dr Maloney said he had had a positive reaction from the community so far.
“The staff are still supporting the surgery and the patients know them so it is still very familiar and not too much of a shock,” he said.
Dr Westman is retiring but will work at the practice one day a week.
