Arkiboum arrived at Cavanough’s stables in September from Rosehill trainer Tim Martin.
Cavanough accepted with Arkiboum at Gundagai tomorrow and Moonee Valley tomorrow night before opting for the city.
Arkiboum, owned by Nick Moraitis, has had two starts for Cavanough — a win at Cootamundra before a luckless third at Moonee Valley two weeks ago.
The four-year-mare was held-up in the final 100 metres when jockey Hugh Bowman tried to take a narrow gap.
“Hughie said everywhere he went he ran into a black spot,” Cavanough said.
“She’s drawn 5, back racing against her own sex so we’ll just hope for a bit more luck this time.”
Dwayne Dunn replaces Bowman.
Arkiboum has had seven starts, two wins, two placings and won almost $50,000.
