Mills was the star of last weekend’s speedcar event at Rosedale in Gippsland where he started the final from pole position and led for every lap on his way to victory.
Andy Pearce and Robbie Gordon, who were second and third, will be determined to knock Mills off the top step of the podium in round 3 of the series.
Despite rolling his car last weekend, veteran speedcar driver Keith Astrella will be in Wangaratta and hoping to turn his luck around.
This will be the fourth meeting held by the Wangaratta Motor Sports Club this season and with warm and sunny weather again predicted, a big crowd of spectators is expected.
The popular dirt karts will start the proceedings from 3pm, with 58 entries sure to provide wheel-to-wheel racing.
There will also be support classes featuring Vic sports sedans, standard saloons and juniors, with local driver Simon Hill the man to catch in the sports sedans after recent suspension upgrades to his VL Commodore.
Hill hopes the improvements give him an advantage against his rivals, including the Commodore of Jamie Ross.
Stuart Densem will be hard to beat in the standard saloons, while young guns Kyle Patton (Ford Falcon EA) and Andrew Roebell (Commodore) are expected to lead the field in the juniors.
Gates open for spectators at noon, with racing to start at 3pm and continuing until 11pm.
All categories will race several times during the night, with finals at the end of the program to follow the preliminary heats.
Entry to the track is $20 for adults, $15 for pensioners, with children under 16 admitted free if accompanied by an adult.
A full commentary, event program and catering are offered, as well as access to the pits for a closer look at the cars and a chance to meet the drivers.
